11. How should Arkansas address our illegal immigrant population?
Jasen Kelly (Republican)
Support law enforcement so they can enforce laws on the books, which real reform should begin at the Federal Level. I would support legislation that would prohibit illegal immigrants from receiving benefits such as college scholarships, etc,...
Kerry Murphy (Republican)
Get them registered on a work visa and then they could apply for citizenship through the regular channels in the back of the line. Eligible after 10 years with no felony or a shorter period with military service.
12. How can Arkansas prevent mass shootings?
Jasen Kelly (Republican)
Prevention of mass shootings is a funding priority issue. I worked diligently to help pass the public safety initiative in Benton to provide the Benton Police Department with more resources to provide more School Resource Officers in the Benton School District. We must focus on more resources and more training for local & state law enforcement.
Kerry Murphy (Republican)
Harden our schools with security measures, allow teachers to complete training and carry a firearm. Have a free mental health evaluation process and if found to be violent, then we put them on a not allowed to purchase list. There would be an appeal process available
13. What specific legislation will you work to enact?
Jasen Kelly (Republican)
I want to work with other legislators, citizens, business owners, and teachers to improve many issues in Arkansas such as tort reform, worker's compensation reform, Career Technical Education, and the opioid epidemic.

I would work diligently to enact legislation that would require adjudicated youth across Arkansas to participate in Career Technical Educational Programs that have industry recognized certificates. Many of the youth that leave our correctional facilities across Arkansas, go home to the same situation that they entered the "system" in. I want to equip these youth with the tools necessary to become productive Arkansas citizens.
Kerry Murphy (Republican)
Work to harden our schools with resource officers, veterans and trained teachers. Cut government waste and lower our State Income Tax. Help consolidate state departments. Protect our 2nd Amendment rights. Bills that support our veterans.
