He was serving his second term in the Arkansas Senate. A special election is being held to fill his seat for the remainder of his term and the next four-year term. Two candidates filed to succeed Sen. Gilmore. The Special Primary Election will take place on August 18. Candidates Laura &#8220;Missy&#8221; Wardlaw and Harrell Wilson filed to run in this special election. Both candidates filled out the Arkansas Voter&#8217;s Guide Survey.
