State Senate 28
1. Abortion: Arkansas’ current law that prohibits abortion except to save the life of the mother in a medical emergency.

Robert Ballinger (Republican)
Support
I support any legislation that ultimately saves more babies lives, but I am not supportive of any exceptions.

2. Abortion: Establishing a permanent funding stream to provide state-funded grants to charities that provide women with alternatives to abortion.
3. Education: The Arkansas LEARNS Act Educational Freedom Accounts that lets families use public dollars to pay for an education at a private school or homeschool.

Bryan King (Republican)
I support school choice but did not vote for Learns. As a fiscal conservative the program is problematic with funding. Every government program should financially responsible. Recently 90 million had to be pulled out of a one time account to fund on going Learns program. We can have a school choice program without hiring out of state venders to run an Arkansas school choice program. Hiring out of state companies like Class Wallet and Students first is not the best for school choice participants. We should hire only in state companies to administer school choice. As with any government program we need accountability with tax dollars. We need school choice but I have concerns about the wrong government and lobbyist influence tainting school choice.
4. Drugs: Legalizing recreational marijuana in Arkansas.

Bryan King (Republican)
I believe citizens of Arkansas should have the say so on this matter by a vote of the people.
5. Tech: Requiring major social media websites to verify all users’ ages in order to protect children on their platforms.
6. Gambling: Letting casinos in Arkansas conduct gambling online.

7. Elections: Current ballot initiative efforts to change the Arkansas Constitution to make it easier for private individuals or entities to place measures on the ballot for a statewide vote.

Bryan King (Republican)
I do not know the specifics of the current proposal you mention. But I do believe our Founding Fathers believe the citizens should have the right to challenge their government.
8. Guns: Confiscation of firearms from citizens that the government deem a danger to themselves or others, otherwise known as red flag laws.
9. Marriage: The U.S. Supreme Court’s 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges decision that legalized same-sex marriage.

Marriage is a God ordained life-long partnership between one man and one woman. Anything else is a perversion of God’s original plan.

I believe in Jeffersonian states rights to decide many issues. As mentioned before the citizens should have the right to decide many issues. As with other Federal decisions that give too much Corporate control and don’t allow states to decide what’s best. Just like the entire beef market controlled by a few companies.
