Good roads are an important and necessary tool for economic development, and if elected I will advocate for new and improved infrastructure for southeast Arkansas. I support the fact that the voters will have the final say at the ballot box and decide whether or not to extend the half-cent tax for road funding, but regardless taxpayers deserve to know that state government will spend their money wisely and their elected officials will work to lower their overall tax burden.
5. Hate Crimes: Increased penalties for crimes committed because of the victim’s race, gender, or sexual orientation.

I will wait to see what, if any proposed hate crime legislation looks like, but I will not support any legislation that would violate the constitutional rights under the First Amendment of anyone or their rights to legal due process. We must be certain that any legislation equally protects the rights of all.
6. Conscience: Allowing healthcare professionals to opt out of non-emergency treatments and procedures that violate their deeply-held religious, moral, or ethical convictions.
