State House 41

1. Abortion: The 1973 Roe v. Wade U.S. Supreme Court abortion decision.
Edward Flanigan (Libertarian)
Oppose
Roe v. Wade is Federal overreach and a violation of the 10th Amendment. This should be handled at the state level.

2. COVID: Letting private businesses terminate employees who are not vaccinated against COVID-19.
Edward Flanigan (Libertarian)
Oppose
Neither federal or state government has the authority to mandate ANY medical decisions or treatments

3. Marijuana: Legalizing recreational marijuana in Arkansas.
Edward Flanigan (Libertarian)
Support
Prohibition has disproportionately affected poor communities, and costs American taxpayers far too much money for the return on investment. The taxes collected from the legal sale could fund far more public projects than the money currently spent on prohibition, policing amd eradication of marijuana. The state should not be allowed to profit from anything it puts citizens in jail for selling, buying or possessing.
Josh Miller (Republican)
Oppose
4. Education: Allowing public funds allocated for the education of a child to be used to pay for an education at any school the parent chooses.
Edward Flanigan (Libertarian)
Support
I think this should be extended to homeschoolers as well. Homeschool supplies are no cheaper than public schools, and parents are paying out of pocket for these materials, and still paying the taxes that fund schools.
Josh Miller (Republican)
Support
5. Critical Race Theory: Withholding state funds from any public school that promotes critical race theory.
Edward Flanigan (Libertarian)
Undecided
I marked undecided because this type of decision should be up to the parents in said school district. It is not the government's place to dictate what parents want taught to their children, and if parents vote for it, the scholl should teach it.
Josh Miller (Republican)
Support
6. Elections: Requiring absentee ballots to be notarized in order to be counted in an election.
Edward Flanigan (Libertarian)
Support
Elections should be as secure as possible. While in preson votingbis the most secure, absentee voting is necessary for a small demographic of people, and should be as secure as in-person voting.
Josh Miller (Republican)
Support
7. Privacy: Requiring individuals to use the changing room, restroom, or shower of their biological sex on government property—such as public schools, state parks, and government buildings.

9. Marriage: Making it more difficult to obtain a divorce by eliminating general indignities as grounds for divorce.
Edward Flanigan (Libertarian)
Oppose
Unfortunately, there are instances where two people are just not compatible. I do believe that custody should automatically be 50/50 with no child support, and if a parent wants that changed, they must go to court and provide reasons that their child(ren) should only see one parent 4-6 days a month.
