State House 48

1. Abortion: The U.S. Supreme Court’s 2022 Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization abortion decision.
Ryan Rose (Republican)
Support
The lives of the unborn are truly priceless and as a State Representative, I have, and will always vote pro-life. Serving as a board member with a local pregnancy center, I’ve helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars dedicated to helping women and families through crisis pregnancies.

Pro-life legislation will continue to be huge moving forward.
I have been endorsed by the Arkansas Right to Life and have received a 100% Pro-Life Voting Record.
2. Abortion: Arkansas' current law that prohibits abortion except to save the life of the mother in a medical emergency.
Ryan Rose (Republican)
Support
I was the primary sponsor of HR 1003 during the June 2024 Special Session which stood in opposition of the Arkansas Abortion amendment of 2024, I support Arkansas' current law and will do all that I can to protect the lives of the unborn.
I have been endorsed by the Arkansas Right to Life and have received a 100% Pro-Life Voting Record.
3. Education: The 2023 LEARNS Act passed by the Arkansas Legislature that makes comprehensive changes to Arkansas' education laws.
Ryan Rose (Republican)
Support
I was one of the earliest cosponsors to the LEARNS act and ran on the basis of being a pro school choice and education freedom candidate.
4. Marijuana: Legalizing recreational marijuana.
Ryan Rose (Republican)
Oppose
I am fundamentally against legalizing recreational marijuana. Marijuana is a gateway drug and states who continue to legalize marijuana have seen increases in crime, depression, teen suicide and a multitude of other tragic and negative outcomes in their communities and states.
5. Guns: Banning firearms that are commonly known as "assault weapons."
Ryan Rose (Republican)
Oppose
Our 2nd amendment gives our citizens the right to keep and bear Arms and that right shall not be infringed. Simply labeling something with a scary name like "assault weapons," does not give our government the right to deny our citizens their rights.
6. Gender-Identity: Prohibiting minors from receiving puberty blockers, hormones, or surgery for the purpose of gender transition.
Ryan Rose (Republican)
Support
I emphatically am against any form of "gender conforming care" that is proposed by woke leftist medical communities that are looking to manipulate, medicate or mangle the hormones and bodies of minors long before they even know what the long term consequences of those decisions will be.
7. COVID-19: Allowing state government to close private businesses during a health emergency.
Ryan Rose (Republican)
Oppose
My business and the businesses of many other Arkansans were drastically impacted in a negative way by the pressure to be closed during Covid-19. Our government does not have the right to take such action and I will never endorse that while I'm in office.
8. Nursing Homes: Letting nursing home residents voluntarily place cameras in their own rooms to enable their family members to see and hear them.
Ryan Rose (Republican)
Undecided
This is a complex issue that I've taken under advisement and am still studying to come to a thoughtful and methodical conclusion.
9. Freedom of Information: Further amending the Freedom of Information Act to prevent disclosure of deliberative documents such as government memos and letters, as discussed in the special legislative session of 2023.
Ryan Rose (Republican)
Undecided
I was supportive of the Governor's bill during the special session to make sure that any outdated versions of our FOIA were amended to make sure the safety and security of our constitutional officers and their families remain safe from those who would seek to do them harm. I believe that FOIA is an important component of governmental accountability and that it should remain in place for citizens as well as the government. At the same time, I can see where the digital age we live in now may present some simple and common sense adjustments to FOIA at a later date, and I remain open to those conversations.
